It’s the first day of rehearsals for our upcoming production of West Side Story! Are you excited? ‘Cause we are!
The brand new, shiny cast waltzed, or rather samba-ed, their way into the Maylands rehearsal venue on Monday night, ready to give it their all. The night kicked off with dancing, under the inspired eyes of our choreographer Jacinta Vistoli, and music, guided by the ever patient and incredibly talented Ben Saunders.
Our two young leads, Daniel Scott as Tony and Kahrynn Hartshorne as Maria are preparing to break your hearts with the poignant ‘Tonight’ and ‘Somewhere’. We can already see and hear where this is going and it’s exciting!!
Tickets went on sale on Monday too so it was a double day of ‘cool’! If you’re thinking of booking a matinee ticket, our advice is to get in quick. They always fill up fast and you do not want to miss these energetic young performers giving it their all to Sondheim and Bernstein tunes like ‘Jet’s Song’, ‘Cool’ and the iconic ‘America’.
