VALE LEONIE OSBORN
01/11/1941 – 14/01/2025
The Metropolitan Musical Theatre Company is devastated to record the loss of our tenacious, diligent, all knowing, multi talented, constant, dynamic and passionate Production Manager, Leonie Osborn.
Leonie left us on 14/1/25 after a courageous battle with multiple cancers, which did not stop her from working like a Trojan behind the scenes, right up until the end.
Leonie’s career with The Met spanned some 60 years, appearing onstage and then as Director, Choreographer, Costume Coordinator, Secretary, Treasurer, Committee Member, Publicity & Liaison Officer, and finally as the company’s Production Manager. Her last directorial role was for The Met’s 60th Anniversary Production of ‘Can Can’ in 2018.
Since then Leonie has been the engine behind every Met show, managing contracts, printing, sets, costumes, liaising between the various agents of the theatre, lighting and audio companies, committee and production teams. She was our lynch pin and we will forever be playing catch-up.
Vale Leonie. You’re up there with dear Hermonn now, polishing the stars. Your friends and colleagues salute you, love you and will miss you.
You fought hard and didn’t let go easily. We expected nothing less.
