Rehearsals for ‘West Side Story’ are well underway with our ‘Assistant Director’ Peggy in the driving seat on Monday night. When asked, she had this to say,
“The iconic choreography is top of the list tonight. Oh, did I say ‘Tonight’? See what I did there?” (maniacal Muttley like chuckle IYKYK).
We’re not sure Musical Director and set designer extraordinaire, Ben Saunders, agrees with her though.
Ben is obviously enjoying working with the stunning music and lyrics from Bernstein and Sondheim, part of the enduring freshness of this iconic show. He’s keeping up the tempo and was heard to remark to Peggy,
“Listen, back off Pegster, what do you know about choral music?”, to which Peggy replied,
“Bach!”
Never underestimate your Dogrector Ben! 😀
But all these production team shenanigans cannot distract our Tony (Daniel Scott) and Maria (Kahrynn Hartshorne) who remain completely obsessed….
These two are going to break your hearts!
